Twas a good day

Sometimes it is just great listening to people talk and discuss. I was at CG and we looked into Hebrews 2. Throughout the BS I did not say anything (as usual :P), partly due to the tiredness. Towards to the end we, or rather, they started to steered towards a debate and it was interesting to listen to the discussion and to follow the train of thought. There were moments of epiphany that momentarily took away my exhaustion.

Then, we broke up into pairs to share a bit and prayed. My partner was Jerusha and we shared and she started praying first. While she was praying, I began to mentally note down the prayer pointers for her. When it was my turn, all the prayer pointers just vanished and I was fumbling for the correct words to say and the sentences just didn't flow well. There had been times where I felt the same way and after Amen I thought "Man.. that was an awful prayer.." (but God knows what is in my heart ;)) But when I opened my eyes, Jerusha looked at me and said "Teresa, I loved your prayer!" "Whattttttt?

She said I have the gift of interceding through prayer, or something like this. Apparently she felt the same way several times.. So, my 'awful' prayer became someone's answered prayer.

#sleepy

I was at the Vietnam-Singapore Potluck Dinner (organized by International Friendship Group) and I met this VCF-er and we started to talk. Halfway through I was saying I am from KL and he (a Singaporean) said: "I know this is a long shot but do you know William Ong?"

*goosebumps moments*

Of all Malaysians, he knows the Ongs! Haha. They go to the same church. The event was supposed to be a platform for VCF-ers to befriend the Vietnamese students in NUS. I think there were 30 of us were there but only with 4 Vietnamese students. Haha. So it's more like a platform for VCF-ers to interact with one another. BUT it's a good thing in a way cuz managed to speak to other VCF-ers. There was another exchange student there whom I thought was a Vietnamese (sorry shouldn't judge from appearance) until I sat down and started to talk and when I heard the ang moh accent I was thinking cannot be Vietnamese right... Then I thought maybe a Vietnamese who studied in one of the Western countries and came to NUS for exchange.. OR, he still could be a Vietnamese cuz some Vietnamese carry a Westerner accent... Then only I realized he is NOT from Vietnamese but an exchange student from UC. Then I thought to myself, ok, he does look like an ABC.. Can be Chinese? A bit fair though.. Until he told me he lost his passport and waiting for his documents to arrive from Japan.

Wait, Japan?! O_o

THEN, it all make sense.. Japanese! His japanese look suddenly became very distinctive. Hahah. From Vietnamese --> Chinese --> Japanese. LOL. Criminology student man.. *thinks CSI* Why didn't we have such course in NUS?

Ugh

I realised I have not been in any major stress lately until this morning. I felt I was in a pressure cooker.

Plus the lack of sleep and headache that kicked in. Actually, the matter sounded quite petty - rushing lab report. But I think it was the fact that I know I have to finish by 2pm, by hook or by crook and seeing time ticking away without producing anything is really bad. If it was a few days back, I would have slowly take my time to search the internet but now no, zero outcome just added onto the stress level.

I went down from my room at 10am to collect my lab coat from the shuttle bus service (I left it on the bus the day before and that will another story to tell) and on my way back, I dropped by the mart and got myself a carton of orange juice and throughout the morning, I almost finished the whole carton >< But it helped in relieving the headache and stress *phew* So yea can imagine how much orange juice I had flushed into my body..

Thank God things went fine. Although I have no time to go through it and some parts were not complete but at least I came out with something. Cannot be happier when I was typing the word 'conclusion'. At first I told myself I want to score better for this report but oh well.... we will how it turns out >< Thought a morning will be enough to finish two discussion questions but... NO. Can spend 45 minutes searching google with no relevant results. Aiks.

Luckily still have energy to stay awake in class O_O

Twenty twoooo

My birthday was 4 days ago but up til today I still receive treat from friend T__________T too touched.

So thankful for so many friends in my life. I don't think I will go through the details but I am certainly touched by each one of you who took effort to celebrate with me. Not just one day, few days somemore. I feel bad loved T________T

I must commend my PGP CG for their birthday surprise which was really a surprise! Hahah. That was Friday, surprise #1. Then Saturday I was at JB to spend time with kids from Care Haven. Sunday evening verene belanja me and surprise with a cake after dinner (shouldn't eat until so full). Got 'tipu' to prarthi's room, thinking we're going to pray in her room instead since she is too tired to come down to meet us (but she was really tired, that one not tipu). But got surprise #2 waiting in the room - cupcakes and candles. I still have one more cupcake in my fridge now. Hahah. Monday supposed to be a surprise celebration with the fst people but I accidentally got invited to the fb event. "xxx invited you to the event 'licheng and teresa's birthday celebration!'" -_____- Haha. Oops. But it's okay we still had lots of fun, being the noisiest group in the whole restaurant. Yesterday sy treated me lunch :) and today kh treated me starbucks (my second one in nus. haha)

A big thank you to all my friends T______T

Mom in Singapore

A very fruitful day:
Morning + Noon: NUS
Coincidentally, 10th August is NUS Rag Day!

Mom in awe of NUS. Haha.

We walked one round across the track field to check out the floats. Started with this float with a kiss me face.

Kiss me on the left. The rest I am not too sure what are those.

A very huge boot behind. DO NOT criticise my photography skills.

Each float has their own theme and meaning but I never pay much attention to that.

I feel bad for these dancers and helpers because for some reason, Rag was held from 9am - 2pm. The heat is no joke. 太卖命了!

 Troll face. Haha!

With the rest of the 9gag stuff.

 Zooming in further.

Clearly you can notice that I have not much words for all these floats. After spending 3 months of sweat and blood and tears, they have to dismantle the float at the end of the day.

Red bean green tea frap! My first starbucks in NUS. See, I don't simply splurge on luxurious stuff.

Chilling at starbucks. Hiding away from the crowd and heat at the field.

For lunch, we headed to Biz for Korean food.

 Fat Saba.

Ginseng Chicken Soup. I know it doesn't look very appetizing.. But I think mom likes it. She said it's quite flavorful. lol. Total damage = 8dol!

After resting, we headed back to the field to catch the remaining performances.
We mistakenly stood with the Engin people. So when it was Engin fac's turn to perform, we were the two awkward people standing in within a roaring crowd -.-

After rag, we went back my room to rest our feet and headed out to the city in the afternoon!

 At Din Tai Fung.
Mom sms-ing dad (for the nth time)

 Still sms-ing.

My beef noodle. Very soft soft meat. Don't have to take much effort to tear the meat. Just need to bite it gently. Haha.

Mom's dumpling noodle. Don't say I let myself eat the better one. I purposely let her have the not-so-spicy and more qing dan one so she won't have stomachache.

The xiao long PAUS! Must be extra cautious not to let the zap inside burn your tongue.

 The GLOWING PAU!

At the garden on top of Esplanade.

Taking the helix bridge towards MBS.

No, we didn't go into garden by the bay cuz tireddddd. Plus it's getting late liao. Spent too much time in the casino already. Haha.
