人与人之间如何打交道也是一门学问啊~

Mom, you're right. Just hope that it's me being sensitive.

And today's presentation was pretty bad for me. The words got jumbled up. Gosh, so stress speaking in front of business students and who are seniors. At least i have other group mates to back up during Q&A session. But i think it's just another phase that i have to go through. There's always first time for everything.

AHHHHHH.

Sunday, October 3, 2010

Proud to say i have a happy saturday and happy sunday. At least up til this moment. Sunday is not over yet. heh.

Saturday afternoon went to the science library to study abit. One thing i don't like about saturdays is that you don't have activities and you have to stay in your room for the whole day. So decided to go to the library in the afternoon. The construction is still going on and the drilling was worse. But what to do, I'm already there. So found a cubicle and settled down. Drill Drill Drill.... Knock Knock Knock... It gets quite irritating at first, but after awhile it doesn't bother that much anymore. My tolerance level had advanced to another level. Even napped there for 20mins. Nice aircond, small crowd (think because of the construction, people choose to go another library).

And for Sunday, morning jog! And it was as early as 6.30am. When people are still in their blanket, me and verene were up for morning jog around NUS. The weather was good cuz it just rained the night before. And the route wasn't that long that i thought. And after that went to the canteen to have breakfast. Nasi lemak and teh tarik. Ah, typical malaysian style breakfast. Then after doing my laundry, went for church service. Talking about laundry, the dryer is useless. The clothes are still damp when i took it out. So you can imagine, the clothes i hang around in my room to dry them under a power speed 4 fan. Just because i refused to spend
another dollar on the dryer. Well, more like lazy to look for 20cent coins for the dryer. Service today was good. Ok i seldom said this. But today the worship team was good, the speaker was good. Everything seemed to be flowing. And yes, the speaker was GOOD. cuz i didn't dozed off. hahah. But it was an emotional session. hmm, thought provoking? In how to response to God.

Ok rewind to friday. Friday was another long night. Went to clementi to have dinnerSSS. hahah. Yup total 3 stops. First stop was at Mors Burger. The burgers are TINY. Abit dissapointed. I didn't wait long for my burger, but verene's one took like 15-20mins. Maybe not that long, but it felt as if it was that long. Having tiny burgers obviously isn't enough to satisfy our appetite. So we moved on to the opposite subway. Before you think "Wah so rich..". Wait, we shared la k. Berkongsi-kongsi. So 6 inch shared between us two. We took the student promotion, so 6inch sandwich + 1 cookie + drink cost 5.90 dollars.
This was at Mors Burger. I ordered yakiniku rice burger. Didn't took pic of it too. Even the pic below is already half eaten. It is spicy mors burger anyway.

And the last stop is tang yuan!! tang yuan with 'feelings'. peanut, red bean and black sesame. hahah. So glad i found the stall. So next time can go buy whenever i want. hoots.

Week 8 coming. Test on tuesday :)

There is something seriously wrong with my biological clock. For the past one week plus, i have been feeling lethargic. I will start to feel sleepy at about 9 or 10pm, just the time when i plan to start to study. And the whole night will turn unproductive. And i wake up at 4am. Not that i wanted to, but my body just automatically wakes me up :/ I think something gone haywire.I woke up at 4 most of the time is due to the urge to pee. So when my sleep is disturbed, it's hard to get back to sleep. Cuz i'll feel the tension, thinking of test, work undone.... And hence, waking up early causes drowziness at night. It's a cycle!! I don't want this to go onnnnnn. boo. I missed those days when i can sleep like a PIG. Can sleep whenever, wherever.

Home

It is indeed good to be back. 2 months in Singapore already enough to make me homesick, now i salute those went all the way to UK, US. Tried to spend as much as possible with the family. You will not treasure something until you lose it. I can kind of relate to it. Maybe for my case it is not until the point of losing it, but being away from family really makes you regret not spending enough time with them before that, taking it for granted etc etc.

Some of the stuff i did :)
Saturday after reaching one world hotel, went to one utama to top up my phone. Had a hard time looking for a telecommunication shop. The one that i know off is close down/shifted/renovate, i don't know. Then head to mcD to buy fries. As if singapore has no fries. haha but you'll get the feeling that everything in singapore is expensive (even though sometimes the price difference isn't that much), so when you buy stuff, you'll always think twice. Unlike here, feel like eating this? BUY LAH! Before dinner, drove to Pete's house to visit his newly renovated house. Amused by his lady gaga taste for curtains. ahahah. silver-ish. hmmm. Dinner is at home. For the first time after dunno how many months or years (haha), she prepared
dinner beforehand! means she copped the vege, prepared the soup. Got planning wan ok! Really really rare. Welcome back home dinner memang not bad ah. So when me n momo got back home it's time for dinner! The funny thing is, after i came back, the next day dad will be going to China. Nevermind, at least i get to see him. After dinner, we ate mooncake. Note: not JUST eat mooncake k. Eat mooncake AND drink chinese tea at the same time. Wah so got feel ler. haha. Something i don't remember doing for a long time.

Woke up at 5am the next day (please imagine sleepy face. yawns) to send dad to the airport. Driving back was hard. Trying hard to keep myself awake. I think i fell asleep for like one second. Cuz i realised i was driving between 2 lanes. Then went for church service. Nice to be back to TLC, with all the familiar faces. After that hit down KL to sg wang. Shopping wasn't really fruitful. But still got myself some stuff la. The place is still as la-la as before. Stuffy place, people people and more people. Even the aircond there smells la-la. Not like those aircond in 1u. hehe.
Dinner @ hanazen. A very belated birthday for me and mom. Oh well,
that was what it is initially for. Then met up with wanning for the last supper. You will be missed!

Sigh! NOT ENOUGH TIME AH!!. Enough said :)

I'm constantly telling myself take it easy take it easy.
I need strength to go through this week. Please God.

Saturday, August 14, 2010

I am now blogging in a HOSPITAL. I'm not visiting someone, I AM THE ONE WHO GOT ADMITTED. very omg right.

Today is my 3rd day there :( And the doctor told me this morning that i need to stay for another night :((

So, what exactly happened.

Wednesday i woke up feeling the body burning, very heaty. I thought i didn't drink enough water, maybe it's just normal body heaty. So in the afternoon i took a bath and went to the library. Initial plan is to stay there until jap class which is 6pm. But at about 3sth, I felt so dizzy i couldn't take it any longer, went back to my room to catch some sleep. Woke up 45 mins later, felt the room spinning but dragged myself to jap lecture. Took panadol then surprisingly felt better. So gone through the whole lecture and went back to sleep. I noticed my swollen thumb as well but didn't bother much about it, thought it's some insect bite.

Then the next day the fever came down a little but the swelling got worse. My whole thumb is swelled to the MAX and the redness continues on up the arm. And it hurts. Went to the uni clinic after lecture but when i showed the doctor my swelling, she straightaway ask me to go to the hospital. So went to the A&E department, waited waited waited. Saw the doctor, took blood samples (3pokes ><), took the drip. Then the bad news came- i need to be admitted into the hospital. And that time, my phone battery died. But thank goodness i wrote down one contact of my friend's the day before. So that's my ONLY contact.

So called my friend to come over to get my room key, explained situation. I expected 1 to come, but 6 appeared. hahaa. Then i was wheeled up to the operating theatre. Had a few jabs of anaesthetic mainly at the thumb.
DOC:"I'll need to remove your nail."
ME:"Errr, do you really have to?"
DOC:"You can keep the nail..."
ME:*tinge of hope*
DOC:"But you will lose your thumb"
Bubble burst immediately. Fine, just remove my nail la.
So that's basically about my first surgery. I wrote this on my second or third day in the hospital. But was too lazy to finish up the story. This is only like half of the story. See when i got time maybe i'll update the second half. haha.
Btw, i got discharged already!!!!!!!!!

Jalan jalan

Went to jurong point with verene after open bidding closed. Need to get myself out of my room to relax abit. After all the bidding stuff.

Was undecided where to go. Me already very indecisive, paired with another indecisive person only make things double hard to decide. Hahaha. We thought of chinese garden, then decided on jurong point. Save the garden for next time :)

Went to the mall beside the mrt station. Walked around, not many cheap stuff. After all, it's a mall. Found cotton on, but that outlet don't have sales, weird. That day when i was flagging, i passed by a cotton on outlet in orchard having sales. So tempting.

Chewy Junior. Verene was talking about this so we went to try it :p
And i realised yami yogurt was opposite chewy junior! Realised the concept is a bit like tutti frutti. The one my 'brother' belanja-ed the night before i come to singapore.

Mine on the right. Double chocolate. The left is verene's. Blueberry something. haha.

Ahh. Looks nice! The texture is something like muachi la. A donut look alike muachi. And there's cream inside. When u sink your teeth into it, better fast fast suck the cream before it oozes out. hehe.

My double choco. With crispy rice on top. It's quite small actually, slightly smaller than donut. $1.50 one biji. But we got the student price. 30cents off!! yay!! hahah. like that also happy.

We were sitting on the bench in front of chewy junior, then we noticed the shop beside it.
Jollibean.
We saw a MUST TRY- mee jiang kueh.
said must try ler, how can we not try?

So both of us shared the peanut one.
Something like apam. but more peanuty.

Couldn't afford ourselves with expensive nice food, so these are the little things that makes us happy. LOL.

Wow, very rajin blog today.

First thing first, been lazy to snap pictures lately. The camera is always lying around in my room. So what to do, have to steal pictures from the internet. For the past few days was sleeping quite late, so was kind of sleep deprived. Maybe for someone else my sleeping hours might be more than enough, but for me being someone who loves to sleep, sleeping hours seem not be enough. BUT, it's good to get a start to this lifestyle, i can foresee my sleeping hours getting lesser when classes start.

No pictures very hard to blog. My writing so
char, if no pictures the post will turn out long-winded. For my modules, finally it's coming to an end. But don't so happy first, later on there's still the tutorial balloting. Like momo said, get to used to it then can liao la. Trying not to stress too much about it also. So this term i'll be taking 3core modules, basic english (free english classes, how good!), japanese as my breadth (can talk to takuya kimura next time. Lol) and 1 more elective. The one i chose for the previous round, i got outbidded. So now opting for another one, e-commerce. If everything go smooth sailing, and i DON'T get outbid again, these are the 6modules i'll be taking.
*edit* i got e-commerce already.

Oh i just realised i have a few pictures during the freshman inauguration ceremony. That was on monday. Snapped before the ceremony.
First time wearing formal. My turtle neck electric blue top and momo's slacks.
Grandnyaaa.

Then tuesday it was flagging.
FLAGGING is something quite common in singapore, from what i heard. Means, u hit the streets in singapore asking the public for donations. All faculties and halls actually have their own flag team. But i didn't join the science faculty orientation, so in the end i flagged for king edward7 (one of the halls). Being a non-haller, helping to flag for hall is kinda awkward la.

KE7:"You helping us to FLAG??"
Me:"Erm, haha yea..?"

KE7:"Oh, u're from PGP??"
Me:"Erm, haha yea..?"

They probably think i'm out of my mind, having nothing better to do. Actually it was ruth who wanted to join, so i just tagged along. KE7 is the nearest hall from PGP, so any PGP-ians who wants to join they send us to KE7 (which was only 3 people from PGP). wai kuan and verene pulled out last minute. hmph. haha. Slept at 12sth, woke up at 4am. Walked my way to KE7. Boarded the bus, mrt, waited at mcd. 7am, flagging starts! me and my partners were placed in orchard. Things in the morning was quite good actually. Managed to filled my first can before lunch.

But after lunch, the not-enough-sleep weariness comes in, so started to slack. And also most of the people already donated, so it's hard to get business. Since business was sloooow, me and my partner decided to head to bugis. Stayed there til 7, at least managed to filled half of my second can.

Actually there's this competition between halls to see who got the highest donation. So u can see flaggers from other halls/faculties on the same street, so have to pandai-pandai choose some spots that are clear from other flaggers. So in short, flagging IS TIRING. Sometimes while i flag, i'll think, WHAT AM I DOING HERE? But then, it's for charity, so at least i'm not doing for nothing.

Recharging my lost energy. Next week classes start! 既期待又害怕受伤害。ahaha.

._.

Been church hopping for the past 2 weeks. First sunday was at city harvest. Yeah man, CITY HARVEST. It was an eye opener. I think i need not elaborate more. The second sunday went with su ming to her church. Felt abit weird with the musicless worship session. The brother will just go in front, pick a hymn and start singing. And somehow they know the tune of the song.
This week went to trinity christian centre. Thanks to peter's friend, rebecca who brought me there. While waiting for rebecca at the mrt station.

My welcome kit i got from the church. Haha.
Very funny when a lady (rebecca's friend) asked me.
" Oh so u were from a brethren church.. Are we too noisy? "
Haha.
Stuff inside the welcome kit. Not bad eh got mug! But it's verry heavy. It's like carrying rocks! After lunch i hang around in vivo, then to giant to buy some stuff. So in the end, i was carrying 2 bags of 'rocks' taking the bus back to hostel.

Chocolate Oreo. With pearls! Nom nom nom. Munch munch.

Ok, a very boring post. GAH.
Btw, i washed my ezlink card today T_T
From the washing machine to the dryer. I hope it still works.
If not i just flushed 20+dollars down the toilet bowl.

FOP

Dang dang. FESTIVAL OF PRAISE 2010.

Yes u see it correctly. Planet Shakers. Don't gimme 'the look'.
Yeap so this is my first time joining this kind of event.
And it's in the Singapore Indoor Stadium! Come on la, how many chance you get to step into the singapore indoor stadium? for FREE!
That's the main reason why i choose to go.
And it's been a whole week in campus, i need to go out and jalan-jalan abit.
Though being a friday, but the stadium was packed. You can see teenage girls wearing their pinafore coming straight from school for the event.

It started off with planet shakers. Driving the stadium insane. Ok i'm exaggerating. Hehe. But can see people jumping. No i did not jump. Too awkward to follow what they doing. People lifting their hands. Speaking in tongues, quite mild but nothing against that :)
Then comes Don Moen. Hmm, never heard of him before. But some of the songs he sang while playing the piano were familiar so can sing along.

Overall, it was a pretty good night, enjoying music (very chun drummer), songs and experience. woots.
Didn't eat dinner so after the event went to supper house near my residence to have dipper. dinner+supper=diPPER. Had half a waffle and shared fries. VERY heavy supper. Feeling the fats oozing out now.

Tmr 9am have to gather to go to the science centre. I SHOULD SLEEP NOW. Tata.

P.S: Aliza's wedding is tomorrow! How i wish i can attend.

Canoe+polo=tanned

I can't believe i tried this today.
CANOEPOLO.
You must be having this expression now- O.O
I must say..... i doubt if i'll go for that sport again. Haha.
But it was a good experience anyway. Having 0 experience of that sport, at least now i can say i tried kayaking before. Though most of the time i was paddling around in circles. LOL.
Anyway, if it's not because of ruth, i won't go for the try out.
Just whatever la, TRY OUT ma. Just go play la.
It starts around 10 sth, after some time, the wonderful sun starts to shineeee.
Totally forgot about sunblock. And now i'm terribly tanned. As if the day to sentosa had not tanned me enough.
Somehow i got 'seasick', or maybe i didn't drink enough water or maybe i didn't take enough for breakfast. Maybe the sun? So for the second half session, got a little dizzy, so didn't get to enjoy much after that.

Yeap, right now bidding is still in process. Trying to take it easy. And thanks to my band 1 results, i need to bid for basic english classes. And guess what, only 2 slots available and my timetable only fits in 1! Joker. There's only 11 vacancy for that class. JOKER. I got a feeling i have to throw all the points into that to get a place. Wait, even i throw all my points, there's still no guarantee that i can secure the place until the results come out. But what to do, take it easy lor. Sure got way wan la!

So current mood status : Still smiley smiley. But dunno can last for how long. haha :)
